College Hunks Huntsville Celebrates One Year Anniversary!
In November 2015, John Smith began his journey with his very own College Hunks franchise. College Hunks Huntsville has grown from that point to over 20 team members, two branded junk trucks, two branded move trucks (with one on the way), and two office locations. Throughout the past year, there has been lots of laughter, of course growing pains, dreams and visions of the future, and the development of an excellent team. It has been such an experience for all of us here, growing together and seeing our HUNKSevolve into leaders is the best part. Our team here has a genuine appreciation for our customers and strives to please each and every one. Every move is different and our team is touched every day by the situations we encounter.
A couple of weeks ago, a local pastor had booked an estimate with us. When our manager, Erika, called him he explained the nature of the move and why he was calling on behalf of one of his congregants. The family we would be moving was a family of four. The wife was a working mom, the husband was no longer able to work due to suffering from brain cancer, and the youngest of the two boys was also suffering from Leukemia. The family needed to move from their multi-level house to a single level house due to the difficulty of getting the youngest boy up and down the stairs and in and out of the house in his wheelchair, and the husband’s lack of equilibrium would not make it safe for him to climb the stairs into and within their house. Needless to say, this family desperately needed our services and our compassion. A discounted estimate was done for them, and the pastor then set forth to raise the money it would take to pack and move their entire house. We got the family on the schedule, and their move was a success. The sigh of relief from the wife was a gentle reminder of the impact we can make on our customers' lives, no matter the gravity of their situation.
On a much lighter note, you will see in one of the pictures that we are celebrating our one year anniversary by constructing our newest addition to our fun and enthusiastic team environment, a brand new ping pong table. Yes, there will be some serious competition at the College Hunks office here in Huntsville.
In conclusion, our anniversary could not come at a better time of year. The holiday season is the perfect time to go above and beyond to extend a hand, a listening ear, or a kind word to others. It is our wish that we are able to help even more families like the ones mentioned above in our second year, and to be even more well known in our community for our hospitality, professionalism, compassion, and expertise.
