College Hunks Hauling Junk of Flint, MI, and Genesee County Habitat for Humanity ReStore have together created a partnership to keep mid-Michigan clutter-free while also increasing donations to a great cause.
Jeff Kato, Director of the local ReStore, contacted College Hunks after seeing our brand's eye-catching junk removal signs around town.
Genesee County Habitat for Humanity does donation pickups, but sometimes their schedules aren’t open for a week or two, especially during the busy summer months. They also will only pick up items that are on the main level of the house. If their customers need donation pick-up sooner, or if they have items on the upper or lower level of their house, they then refer them to College Hunks Hauling Junk.
(Above): Our Priority Donation Pickup service has taken many cool things to Habitat. We hauled a local Flint couple's 200+ book collection recently, and Habitat was able to hold a huge book sale at 10-50 cents each.
(Below): Another cool item was a large wooden swingset. The HUNKS took it apart quickly, leaving the clients very satisfied. Here's what they said about us:
“The guys were extremely hard working and very polite. They didn't take a break. They finished taking down and moving a very large wooden play set in just 3 hours. Their attitudes were upbeat and it was a great experience.”
