We're continuing our commitment to eco-friendly practices throughout the company.
College HUNKS has long been a champion of sustainability and this Earth Day, we continue our commitment to making the world a better place while helping customers stress less with their moving and junk hauling needs. As a purpose-driven company, College HUNKS holds social responsibility as a cornerstone of our organization. Eco-friendly practices are woven into the standard operations of the company and executed throughout the more than 200-unit system.
"Our core values are what attract franchisee partners as they resonate with their own beliefs and visions. Among our values is a commitment to being socially responsible and that includes holding eco-friendly practices in high priority," said Nick Friedman, Co-Founder and Visionary of College HUNKS Hauling Junk and Moving®. "Our teams seek environmentally conscious methods for disposing of materials such as electronics, paints, and more. They also partner with local nonprofits to donate unwanted items instead of putting them into landfills. Their efforts give household goods and other items a new life and help decrease the waste pile up that plagues many communities.”
Leon Kassian is the franchise owner of the Edmonton, Alberta College HUNKS and applies eco-friendly practices through his location. He and his team partner with the area Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill, where they drop off customers’ unwanted items from their moves or junk hauling jobs. They have picked up clothing, furniture, electronics, and even mattresses that can benefit other people.
Kassian and his College HUNKS team have been routinely recognized for their impactful recycling and sustainability practices. Most recently, the Alberta Emerald Foundation bestowed them with the Sustainability award to honor their efforts.
“We treat every day like Earth Day,” said Leon Kassian, Owner of the Edmonton College HUNKS Hauling Junk and Moving®. “We are continually seeking new methods and partners to expand and improve our recycling efforts and are proud to do our part in taking care of our planet.”
