Moving costs vary. The final cost of moving your home will depend on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, the size of your home, the distance of your move, the total amount of belongings you will be moving, the time of year you will be moving, and the services you will need. At College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving we don’t use weight as a factor- it's more about the time and manpower that will be needed to do your particular job right. The written moving estimate should explain this clearly.
Regardless of how your chosen moving company charges—by weight or by volume—to get a better idea of your moving costs, College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving recommends starting by creating a detailed list of everything you need help moving. This will help determine the time it will take to physically move your stuff, the size of the truck(s) needed, and what supplies they should bring with them.
- For local moves (within a 50-mile radius), most quotes will be determined based on the number of hours, number of movers, and size of the truck(s) needed to complete the job.
- For long-distance moves, your moving company will likely factor in the total mileage they can expect to travel to your new destination, but it will likely not be the only thing that is considered when providing you a quote. If your move is across state lines, additional fees may be involved such as insurance, tolls, or overnight accommodations for the movers.
College HUNKS recommends being direct with your mover and asking how they will be charging for your move, and we urge you to ensure all these details are written in your moving contract. Some movers make this very clear, but some do not and whether you work with College HUNKS or not, we want to help you have a stress-free move. Have questions about your upcoming move?
